The No. 1 ranked wrestling team in the state remained perfect on the season.

Shakopee won three more dual meets this past week to improve to 11-0 in duals this season.

The Sabers traveled to Plainview-Elgin-Millville last Saturday to take on the Bulldogs in a non-conference match.

Shakopee left PEM High School with a 50-20 victory.

The Sabers jumped all over the Bulldogs early as they won the first five matches for a 26-0 lead.

Leo Tukhlynovych gave Shakopee a quick 6-0 lead as he earned a pin in 24 seconds in the opening 106 pound match.

Pierson Manville followed with a pin in 1:19 at 113 pounds for a 12-0 lead.

PEM forfeited at 120 pounds only to see Ben Lunn and Tyler Jones earn back-to-back major decisions at 126 and 132 pounds.

The Bulldogs won at 138 but Shakopee bounced back with a technical fall by Sam Treml at 145 and a 7-5 overtime win by Brandon Kidd at 152 for a 34-4 lead.

Shakopee finished the match off with a major decision by DJ Smith, a pin by Connor Raines and a pin from Tommy Johnson.

Prior to the dual with PEM, Shakopee won two South Suburban Conference matches when it defeated Eastview 55-16 and Burnsville 73-6 last Thursday at Lakeville North High School.

In the win against Eastview, Shakopee again won the first five matches and led 27-0 after 132 pounds.

Tukhlynovych started the match with a technical fall at 106 pounds and Evan Bruckner earned a pin at 113 followed by a Manville pin at 120, a Lunn major decision at 126 and a pin by Jones at 132.

Treml, Zach Coleman, Connor Raines, Jack Casey and Tommy Johnson also earned wins against Eastview.

Against Burnsville, the Sabers won four matches by forfeit and got pins from Tukhlynovych, AJ Smith, Tyler Jones, DJ Smith, Casey, Jade Trelstad and Tommy Johnson.

Jones earned his 100th career victory at the triangular.
