Junior Ben Lunn was name as one of 28 other wrestlers to the 2019 MWCA All-State Academic Wrestling Team.

Lunn, who carries a 4.0 GPA was the lone Saber to earn the honor and received a score of 990.

To earn this honor coaches submit wrestlers who meet the requirements to a selection committee. This year there were over 134 applicatnts submitted.

The criteria for the award were the following:

1. Cumulative GPA – example: 4.0 x 2 = 800 points
2. Overall matches wrestled – wins and losses – 1 point per match for 34
3. Winning percentage – 91% = 91 points
4. State Tournament Participation – 25 points per year
5. State Tournament Placement – 1st (50 points), 2nd (40), 3rd (35), 4th (25), 5th (20) and 6th (10)

Lunn will be awarded a plaque at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul during the State Tournament next week.
