You probably heard that the Shakopee High School wrestling team has qualified for the MSHSL State Team Tournament on Thursday, March 1st at the Exel Center in St. Paul.
They will wrestle at 9:00 AM on March 1st. Their second match will be at either 11:00 or 1:00 depending on how they do. And their final match will be at 5:00 or 7:00, again depending on how they do.
WE WILL NOT HAVE PRACTICE ON Thursday, MARCH 1ST! I highly encourage all wrestlers to try to attend part of the state tournament!
Shakopee is hosting the individual sections for the HIGH SCHOOL TEAM this weekend at Shakopee High School. The tournament will be Friday and Saturday. Again, I encourage kids to attend if they can. There will be some pretty impressive wrestling matches. I am not sure exactly what the start times are right now. I have looked online, but can’t find it. I am guessing around 5:00 on Friday and 10:00 on Saturday. We can let kids know at practice when I find it.
I will not be at practice on Tuesday or Thursday (I have conferences at Pearson). Mr. Farmer will be holding practices.
We have had up to 13 kids absent from practices on a single day. I know some kids have been ill or other reasons to be absent, but I am not getting messages from many others about why kids are gone. Counting today, we have only 8 practices left. Let’s do our best to end the season in good standing!
If you child is not participating in the state tournament, please have them return their equipment to me. Red top, black shorts, and singlet.
Remember to register for state if you plan on going. Parents are responsible to register kids, provide rides, and hotel accommodations.
Have a great week!
